Whether you have two children or only one and just want a double jogging stroller so that you will have more space to haul miscellaneous stuff—you need to do your homework before buying a jogging stroller.
If you are like the majority of parents, you have an agenda for how you will be using your double jogging stroller.
Before buying, it is important that you take an honest look at your jogging stroller agenda to decide exactly which type is going to best suit your needs.
In a nutshell, how you plan on using your jogging stroller will determine whether you need a fixed wheel stroller or a swivel wheel stroller.
Smooth surface? Light duty such as shopping or a leisurely, occasional stroll down the street and back?
Or heavy duty, long distance endurance jogging over hill and dale?
Each of these scenarios requires a different type of jogging stroller.
While there are a few jogging strollers available that are not designed to be need specific, most will be for use in either one scenario or the other; but not both.
If you are a serious, devoted jogger who will be out there 7 days a week covering long distances over rough terrain; you need a fixed wheel jogging stroller.
A fixed front wheel will provide both stability and the straight tracking that you will need to keep up a fast pace. It will ensure that the stroller doesn’t veer off course. Normally, fixed front wheels are larger in size than swivel wheel strollers, which gives your little passengers a smoother, more comfortable ride even over bumpy surfaces.
The fixed wheel baby jogging stroller is great for the beach or any sort of rough terrain, at any speed.
If, on the other hand, you will only be taking your double jogging stroller out on light recreational walks, short jogs around the block, or shopping at the mall, you will be much better satisfied with a swivel wheel stroller.
A swivel wheel jogging stroller offers considerably more maneuverability than a fixed front wheel stroller.
This can be very nice when you are out shopping and need to make tight turns in a crowded situation such as a busy shopping thoroughfare, street fair or basically any type of situation when there will be a lot of people and things in your path that you must navigate around.
The front wheel is usually smaller on a swivel wheel jogging stroller, which also makes it a bit easier to handle in tight places.
The swivel wheel model doesn’t offer the same level of smoothness in the ride, but is fine for light, casual use.
Whichever type of double jogging stroller is best for your needs, always remember that safety for your child or children is your Number One concern!
