When it comes to double jogging strollers, one of the most important factors to consider before getting one is to know whether it is ergonomically designed. Ergonomic design basically refers to how comfortable the item would be for the people that are using it.
This is because jogging strollers are used by the children. You wouldn’t want your children to develop complications stemming from utilizing the double jogging stroller. As much as possible, you would want them to be as comfortable as possible when you take them with you on your jogging routes.
To ensure their comfort, here are some of the factors to consider about a double jogging stroller’s ergonomic design:
Seats:
Of course seats are the main thrust of the double jogging stroller, as they are basically children’s seats with wheels.
When looking at the ergonomic factors regarding the seat you should ensure that the children are able to sit comfortably in it, and are not too cramped up by the available space. You would not want them to have to contort their bodies in odd positions just to be able to sit down.
Another thing to consider would be to check on the seat’s safety harness. You should also check to see just how tight it is. Remember that if it is too tight for your children, it may cause chaffing of the skin aside from the highly restricted movement.
Canopy or sun shade:
Another thing to consider would be the canopy or sun shade of the double jogging strollers. You should check if it would provide adequate shade for both of your children. A good sun shade would keep the sun out of both of your children’s faces. Since this is for a double jogging stroller, you should check if it provides adequate shade for the children in both seats.
Lastly, you should also check whether the height of the canopy is raised enough so that your children’s heads would not hit it when they sit straight up. When checking this, you should also start considering that your children would both eventually grow and increase their height.
Handle bars:
Aside from your children, the parents could also be considered as users of the jogging stroller. After all they are the primary target of the “jogging” part of the name. In a double jogging stroller, the part that they would handle the most would be the handlebars for pushing.
You should find a jogging stroller that has a comfortable handle bar to hold on to. It should have a good grip that would not cause blisters or other skin irritations when you hold them as you jog. You should also try to search for double jogging strollers that have adjustable heights for the handlebars as having one that is too low, or too high is not only uncomfortable but can also cause additional strain on your arm muscles.
If you would be able to find an ergonomically designed double jogging stroller, you are one step closer to ensuring that you would have an easy and enjoyable time whenever you go out for a jog with your children.
