New Places, New Faces

Bring Shy Kids Out of Their Shells!

Many children are shy around strangers or people they don’t know well. This is perfectly natural and nothing to worry about.

But, if you are concerned about your child’s shyness and would like to find a way to overcome, or at least lessen, it—a double jogging stroller might be just the ticket.

With a double jogging stroller, you will be able to load your kids up and take them outdoors.

Even a shy child will thoroughly enjoy getting outside. However, children who are somewhat afraid of unfamiliar people and places are apt to find the outing just a little unsettling; regardless of how much they love the trip outdoors.

This is a fantastic opportunity for you to help your child overcome shyness!

Get your kids out in a double jogging stroller every day, and take extra care to introduce strangers and unfamiliar places to your shy child in a calm, reassuring voice.

Point out the positives about whomever you encounter. For example, if you stop to briefly chat with a neighbor out walking her dog, you might comment on what a cute dog it is and how nice a person your neighbor is for her love of animals.

Don’t suddenly or abruptly thrust your child into situations with several strangers, or force your child to be held, hugged or kissed by someone he or she doesn’t know.

This would probably do more harm than good in helping deal with shyness.

Instead, gradually introduce your child to unknown people and places in a non-threatening manner.

Over a period of time, taking your children out daily in the double jogging stroller, you should broaden the horizons of your outings and venture into new places.

As the old saying goes: Practice makes perfect. When your child learns to feel safe in unfamiliar places and less reticent about interacting with new faces, the shyness will slowly but surely be alleviated.

Remember, when you have the children out in a double jogging stroller, that children learn from the example of others. In other words, the way you connect and interact with strangers is very important because your kids will take their cues from you most of the time.

So, be sure to set a good example for your kids in the way you meet and greet unfamiliar people.

New places, new faces—getting your little ones outside in a double jogging stroller on a regular basis will help overcome shyness!
