Banish the New Baby Jealousy!

Banish the New Baby Jealousy Banish the New Baby Jealousy! No matter how eagerly your older child may have awaited the birth of that new brother or sister, when the baby finally arrives, it’s only natural for there to sometimes be a bit of sibling rivalry.

Even if Big Brother or Big Sister doesn’t feel a whit of jealousy toward the new baby, though, it may still be quite an adjustment for an older sibling to adjust to having an addition to the family.

You can help the adjustment and bonding process, while getting some fantastic exercise yourself, by getting a double jogging stroller!

You would be hard pressed to find a better way to help your older child connect with a new baby than daily outings with both of them in a double jogging stroller.

First of all, simply getting out of the house into the fresh air is a tremendous benefit to all of you!

It can be all too easy to get into a rut and develop Cabin Fever when you’re in the house all the time with kids. You will all enjoy getting outside every day and taking a break from the house, and your children will absolutely love it.

With a double jogging stroller, your two little ones will usually be side by side, sharing the sights and adventure of being out in the big, wide world together. Many older siblings take great pleasure in “teaching” a baby brother or sister about things seen along the jogging route.

This teaching process, alone, is a wonderful bonding experience between your two children, and it’s especially good for an older child to help form a close connection to a new baby, because it makes him or her feel important in the baby’s life and development.

You might consider asking your older child to “help” with the baby while you’re jogging by letting you know if too much sun is on the baby, etc.

Feeling helpful and needed is important to every human being, including children. Besides that, all of us form an emotional attachment to a person, or even a pet, that we help care for. So, allowing your older child to feel helpful in the care and nurturing of the new baby will go a long way toward acceptance and close bonding.

It’s also a great bonding experience for the two children to have fun together and share a pleasurable experience such as getting out in the double jogging stroller.

If you don’t have a double jogging stroller—get one!

It will be one of the best investments you will ever make for yourself and a surefire way of helping a big brother or sister form a loving connection with your new baby!
