Top 10 Baby Jogging Stroller Features

Top 10 Baby Jogging Stroller Features Top 10 Baby Jogging Stroller FeaturesMany parents have experienced the benefits of a baby jogging stroller!

Besides being wonderful exercise for you, an outing in a jogging stroller is a pleasant experience for your baby, as well.

If you are looking to buy a baby jogging stroller, here are 10 features that you want the stroller to have:

1. Hand brakes for safety! Hand brakes will allow you to adjust the speed of the stroller to your own jogging speed. Hand brakes will also let you “park” the stroller when you are not moving, and slow down very quickly if necessary. A 5 point harness will keep your little passenger secure in the stroller seat.

2. The seat of the baby jogging stroller should be far enough away from the wheels so that it will recline.

3. Get a baby jogging stroller with large wheels. A rule of thumb is that the larger the wheels, the more comfortable, smooth and stable the ride! An added benefit for you of bigger wheels is that the stroller will be easier to push. However, you probably don’t want wheels on the stroller larger than 20 inches, as the 24 inch wheels do not receive glowing reviews from users.

4. When choosing colors for the baby jogging stroller, consider where you will be using it. If you live in an urban area, for example, you will be better off with darker colors that don’t show dirt easily. If you live in a not-so-urban area, consider extremely bright colors so that the stroller really stands out and is highly visible. In a hot climate, dark colors will absorb heat and can make the baby uncomfortable. Remember that you should always have reflective tapes and lights that flash as you’re moving if you plan to jog late in the evening or at night.

5. The size of the canopy on the jogging stroller is of utmost importance! Get one large enough to block sun and wind, and also one that can be positioned to keep the sun out at all times.

6. Adjustable handlebars are a wonderful feature on a jogging stroller!

7. The weight capacity of the stroller is usually a very good indicator of the quality of the stroller, and how well it is made. Generally, the higher the weight capacity, the better the stroller.

8. Shock absorbers are a critical feature in a baby jogging stroller if you will be jogging on rough, uneven terrain. But, if you will be jogging on a smooth surface such as a paved sidewalk, path or street, you do not want shock absorbers because they will actually make the stroller harder to push.

9. You will usually be better off with an aluminum jogging stroller. The steel framed models are less costly, but harder to push and also subject to rust.

10. Easy assembly and disassembly is a must!

Use these handy tips to help you buy a great baby jogging stroller with the right features!
