Product Summary
What I Like About This Product: Swivel front wheel, height-adjustable handlebar, rear suspension which gives a smooth ride, and a built-in rain cover that is sheer genius.
What Could be Better: The canopy is single; only one front wheel which means it’s harder to keep on course and offers less stability, small 12” front wheel, no hand brake.
The Bottom Line: It’s a fairly good deal for the money, but there are others that cost less with more desirable features, especially if you’re a serious runner.

This is probably a decent double jogging stroller for the price. It retails at around $340, so it isn’t cheap. But, it isn’t as high as some of the really pricey models, either.
The Schwinn Free Wheeler 2 Double Swivel Wheel Jogging Stroller really wasn’t designed for a serious, hard-core runner or jogger. The too-small 12” front wheel just wouldn’t make the grade for that kind of use. However, if you merely want a nice, mid-range double jogging stroller for casual jogging or trips to the mall, it should be fine.
There are some really nice features:
- Adjustable-height handlebar
- One hand folding
- Lightweight yet durable, rust resistant aluminum frame
- Zero-degree turn radius, turn on a dime
- Comfy padded cockpit
- 5-point harness
- Removable padded seat inserts
- Roomy underseat basket and storage pockets behind the seats
- Quick release wheels
- Rear wheel suspension
- Front wheel lock
- Protective sun canopy plus built-in rain canopy
- 5 Year warranty
I am not happy that there is no hand brake on this stroller, or a wrist tether. Lack of a hand brake not only impacts safety, but taking a double stroller downhill would be quite challenging without a handbrake. A wrist tether adds another layer of protection, and I’m surprised there isn’t one.
On a brighter note, it’s very easy to fold, assemble and disassemble. It doesn’t lock while folded, though, and that can be a real pain when trying to get it into or out of a car trunk.
Honestly, although it isn’t at the top of the price tag scale, it doesn’t seem to be any better as several brands priced significantly lower, with comparable or better features.
If you just want something for light use and don’t want to do a lot of comparison shopping, the Schwinn Free Wheeler 2 Double Swivel Wheel Jogging Stroller should fill your needs.
