Kelty Speedster Swivel Deuce Double Jogging Stroller

Product Summary:

What I Like About This Product: Adjustable handle, lightweight, adequate storage.

What Could be Better: Retailing at around $480, it seems expensive for the features. I’m not crazy about the smallish 12” front wheel, either. The ads for this stroller mention a bell several times, but this is not a selling point for me, as a bell would be a cheap add-on if I wanted one.

The Bottom Line: It’s a good double jogging stroller, but seems overpriced.

The Kelty Speedster Swivel Deuce Double Jogging Stroller really doesn’t seem to justify its hefty price tag.

First of all, it has a small front wheel, which isn’t the best choice for serious runners or joggers. This would also hamper its usability on rough surfaces and more rugged terrain.

It’s lightweight, but wide, making it difficult or impossible to fit through a standard door opening.

The weight capacity is 100 pounds, which is adequate and will accommodate your growing children for a while, anyway.

Safety-wide, this double jogging stroller meets or exceeds all of the international industry safety standards. But there is no handbrake, which doesn’t impress me much. Getting down a hill with this thing could prove challenging.

I’m not convinced it would be the most comfortable stroller on the market for your children to rid in, for a couple of reasons. First of all, that little front wheel wouldn’t make for a terribly smooth ride. Besides that, there is only one sun canopy, so you couldn’t adjust to suit each child.

The Kelty Speedster Swivel Deuce Double Jogging Stroller comes with reflective tape, another cheap add-on like the bell; water bottle holders, and a key fob. The key fob, bell and reflective tape are all very inexpensive items that you could buy if you wanted them.

To me, these things don’t make up for the lack of a hand brake or double sun canopies, among other things.

Frankly, I don’t think these little extras add up to enough to make this stroller worth the money.

No doubt it would be adequate for the needs of casual, occasional joggers. But if you don’t mind spending almost $500 for a double jogging stroller, you can probably shop around and find one with a lot more going for it than this one.

I’ve heard lots of people raving about this stroller. They give it a perfect score, 5.0 out of 5.0. Some of them give it a so-so grade. I haven’t got the time, though, to check if it really deserves its marks. Thanks for this post.
